Marni Sommer

Marni Sommer, DrPH, MSN, RN, has been working in global health for almost thirty years. Her research with girls in Tanzania formed the basis of the original book project. She continues to conduct research and advocacy on puberty and education globally. Her prior global experiences included working at USAID, conducting humanitarian relief work; and serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Eritrea. She founded Grow and Know, Inc. in 2010.

Jill Sommer

Jill Sommer, MS, spent decades as a teacher for grade school and adult learners. She has a background in childhood learning and reading acquisition; and is a member of various non-profit organizations, overseeing investments and participating in funding decisions. She has traveled extensively, and has first-hand knowledge of the challenges facing youth in in countries across Africa and Asia, as well as in the United States

Vice Chairman

John Walker

John Walker is Director of Finance at Echoing Green, a global non-profit at the forefront of social enterprise that invests in organizations representing the most promising opportunities for sustainable social impact, where he leads all impact investing activities. Mr. Walker speaks regularly on social enterprise and impact investing at a wide range of industry events, including the annual Social Capital (SOCAP) conference. He serves as an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School, teaching on Impact Investing.

Bridget Boyle

Bridget Boyle, BChE, MBA, has over fifteen years of investment banking experience, focusing on electronic trading. She has extensive experience in large-scale project management and global equities markets. She has provided financial and technical leadership for several private sector boards focusing on health and athletics.
